On July 17, 2014, the Department of Justice and SEC charged Matthew A. Bell and various other individuals with running an elaborate pump-and-dump scheme involving shares of a medical education company in Pennsylvania and two other microcap stocks. Matthew A. Bell was arrested by the FBI and currently awaits trial.

As part of this scheme, Matthew Bell steered a number of his clients at Alamo Asset Advisors into various penny stocks such as Location Based Technologies (LBAS), Codesmart Holdings (ITEN), Towerstream Corporation (TWER), and Evergreen Solar (ESLQR), as well as various private placement investments such as California Proton Treatment Center, Maryland Proton Treatment Center, and Surebooks.

Penny stocks and private placements are considered to be risky (and in some cases speculative) investments which may not be suitable for all investors. Stockbrokers like Matthew Bell have a regulatory duty to ensure that any recommendation to purchase penny stocks is suitable for the needs of each customer. Both stockbrokers and their brokerage firms may be held liable for investment recommendations that are unsuitable for clients.

If you have invested or suffered losses in the various penny stocks or private placement with Matthew A. Bell, please contact Kons Law Firm at (860) 920-5181 for a FREE, NO OBLIGATION consultation to discuss your legal rights. Kons Law is representing investors on a contingency fee basis.
